Established in 1932, Bashkir State Medical University is one of the oldest and well-recognized medical universities offering MBBS in Russia.

Presently, over 8,000 students are studying at BSMU. Out of the total students of BSMU, more than 10% are international who come from more than 40 countries worldwide.

Started more than nine decades ago with only one faculty, i.e., General Medicine, BSMU has grown exponentially since its inception. Besides General Medicine, which is now the largest unit at BSMU, the University has also expanded to include faculty of Pediatrics, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Preventive Medicine.

BSMU is as modern as historic it is. The University has kept pace with modern technology and advanced means of teaching. State-of-the-art infrastructure of BSMU includes various research laboratories and institutions

Until now, more than 16,000 students have graduated as doctors from this University. The alumni network of BSMU is spread worldwide with its medical graduates practicing in different countries globally, both in private as well as public sector institutions.

The medical library of BSMU is home to more than 5,00,000 books and resources and is deservingly designated as one of the best medical libraries in the Russian Federation.

The University is actively involved in innovation in medical education and research at the international level fueled by its association with other universities in different regions of the world for academic exchange and collaborative research projects.

To impart training to the students, BSMU has its own teaching hospital with a bed capacity of 625. At BSMU teaching hospital, more than 24,000 students get treatment every year, which includes more than 10,000 surgeries. Equipped with modern equipment for healthcare delivery, BSMU teaching hospital offers the University students to get hands-on training during MBBS in Russia.

Besides teaching hospital, BSMU has a dedicated center for learning and training with the help of simulation technique, “United Center of Simulation-Based Training.” Simulation-Based Training enhances the practical training experience of the students and helps them develop professional skills and competencies at a new level.

State-of-the-art medical education, infrastructure-backed research, hands-on clinical training, and recognition of Bashkir State Medical University at the global level prepared its students for the international practice of medicine.

BSMU is duly approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI) and also certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). Therefore, a medical degree offered by BSMU is recognized not only in Russia, but in India, the United States, and other countries as well.

The University offers a 6-Year program for MBBS in Russia. For international students, the first three years of the program are taught in the English medium. The final three years of the program are offered in Russian. To help international students learn the Russian language, the University also organizes Russian language classes. Students from India who have qualified NEET are admitted to the program without the need for any other entrance examination.
